Babe

Babe Gets A Second Chance At Love

Babe was one of PAWS founder, Esther Nowell's cats, who found herself in need of a home with Esther's passing. Babe has been adopted by a caring and patient family who made room in their home and heart for her.

" I wanted to give you a wonderful update on our lovely kitty Babe. When she first arrived, she scooted under the bed and stayed there for a couple of weeks. She would come out once in a while but felt most comfortable under the bed. She then started coming out when Chris would lie next to the bed every morning before work and Chris would pet her. When we came home, she would always be under the bed. And then about 3 months later, after we brought her to the vet to trim her nails, that night she sat in front of our bedroom door late and meowed. For a while- maybe 10 mins. Since then she has come downstairs, sat on our laps in the den and has totally become comfortable with her new home. She is very well behaved - scratches only on her post, sleeping on the beds. We are so happy with her. I think the night of her meowing was her telling us that she is happy now. I've attached a picture. Thanks so much !"

Punkin
Punkin

Despite a Long Cold Winter, Punkin Warms the Hearts of His New Humans.

From the daugther of the new owners: Just wanted to drop in and give you an update on Mr. Punkin. He is AWESOME to sum it up in one word. My Dad picked up some of his favorite food... He has taken over my Dad's favorite chair and it is now Punkin's new napping spot...LOL He sleeps in between Mom and Dad in their bed, taking as much room as they will allow him. They have to close the shades at nite now or else Punkin is up with the sun and is trying to wake them up too!!! 5:00am is a little early for 2 retired folks..LOL He has definitely found my parents smiles again. He loves going back and forth from the big bedroom window to the big window in the living room....has a blanket on each one so that he can lay in the windows in solid comfort....spoiled much??? LOL

He loves to sit on their laps and they have experienced his "drooling problem"...LOL and what a motor he has, he is purring all the time my mom said. He is everything I wanted for them and MORE...thank you soooo much.

All in all I believe that they are a perfect fit for each other....and will hopefully have a long and happy life together.

Pomegranate Finds Love of Her Life With Young Lady!

Pomegranate's new-found love is a lovely young lady named Aja. Aja and her family recently adopted Pomegranate. It seems that Aja is quite taken with Miss Pomegranate. She recently hand wrote a note to Pom's foster mom Robin

Dear Robin,

We all love the cat so very much. Everyone that she meets, thinks that she is so very cute and kind. She is finally starting to get used to us. Now she isn't that worried about the things around her and she now loves to play with all her toys. From, Aja and Family PS Thank you so very much for lovely little Pom Pom"

Risa

BOYS IN CHARGE OF A HAPPY HOME The boys have taken over! We have a 4 am and a 4 pm Indy 500 followed by Oscar-worthy performances of extreme starvation, not just for the first person encountered, but for each of us. Yesterday morning at 5 the little paws under the door and the sounds of pathos got me up. I pretended I didn't know what they wanted, asking them what they wanted me to do. They went down a few stairs waiting for me to follow. When I did, they gave me little nods of approval, went down another few stairs looked back, and waited to see if I would follow. We did this all the way downstairs, and at 10-foot intervals back through the house to the kitchen where they stopped at their bowls and started doing circles around them to let me know I'd made it. I did my best not to laugh because I know you don't ever laugh at a cat while he's looking at you! Timmy is a racehorse and (Mr.) (Dr.) Fizz(boy) bounds like a bunny. A friend, looking at Fizz, said he looked like a straight-eared Scottish shorthair. So, of course I googled that, and I'm convinced he's got that somewhere in his mix: Short legs, short body, thick fur, very round eyes and almost no voice. Tim, on the other hand, must have some Siamese: he's got a voice, is long, lean and his fur hugs his shape. But, they get along very well, tail-chasing and all. Fizz eviscerated the green fur ball one night, and Tim came up with a blue one the next day. They must have lockers somewhere we don't know about. The first floor often looks like there's been a break in or a wild party in the morning, until we look at the rugs jammed up against the wall and the particular collection of debris scattered about. We moved the really breakable stuff from tables in front of windows when we saw the landing paths needed to check on a bird, dog or sidewalk view.

EmBee

NEW NAMES, NEW HOME MEANS A WONDERFUL NEW LIFE

"Embee and Zuko - renamed Ziggy and Smokey - are great! We are enjoying them tremendously :) I am so glad that we decided to get two kittens. They are from different litters. Smokey is about a month older than Ziggy, but they are inseparable. We have another cat who is 8. While she tolerates them, I think one would have been a bit lonely with out a friend who really wants to play."

"I will admit that I had a moment of dread when I realized that we would have two young kittens in the house at Christmas time, but we survived nicely. No one tried to climb the tree (my big fear) and we were careful about which ornaments were hung on the lower branches. I did have to rehang a few daily, but no harm in that! They thoroughly enjoyed all the tissue paper and boxes on Christmas day. Thank you for our kitties and all the good work that you do.
