BOYS IN CHARGE OF A HAPPY HOME The boys have taken over! We have a 4 am and a 4 pm Indy 500 followed by Oscar-worthy performances of extreme starvation, not just for the first person encountered, but for each of us. Yesterday morning at 5 the little paws under the door and the sounds of pathos got me up. I pretended I didn't know what they wanted, asking them what they wanted me to do. They went down a few stairs waiting for me to follow. When I did, they gave me little nods of approval, went down another few stairs looked back, and waited to see if I would follow. We did this all the way downstairs, and at 10-foot intervals back through the house to the kitchen where they stopped at their bowls and started doing circles around them to let me know I'd made it. I did my best not to laugh because I know you don't ever laugh at a cat while he's looking at you! Timmy is a racehorse and (Mr.) (Dr.) Fizz(boy) bounds like a bunny. A friend, looking at Fizz, said he looked like a straight-eared Scottish shorthair. So, of course I googled that, and I'm convinced he's got that somewhere in his mix: Short legs, short body, thick fur, very round eyes and almost no voice. Tim, on the other hand, must have some Siamese: he's got a voice, is long, lean and his fur hugs his shape. But, they get along very well, tail-chasing and all. Fizz eviscerated the green fur ball one night, and Tim came up with a blue one the next day. They must have lockers somewhere we don't know about. The first floor often looks like there's been a break in or a wild party in the morning, until we look at the rugs jammed up against the wall and the particular collection of debris scattered about. We moved the really breakable stuff from tables in front of windows when we saw the landing paths needed to check on a bird, dog or sidewalk view.

Roo Returned
Roo Returned

January 2009: Roo has finally found her purrfect home. While she had a great PAWS foster mom, Roo did yearn for a permanent place of her own. Roos' foster mom, Sandy, recently received a thoughtful card from Marie, Roo's new human. Marie says that Roo has settled in very nicely. She follows Marie and talks to her and curls up on her lap. Roo is a wonderful companion and gets along with Marie's other cat and dog. Marie expressed her gratitude to PAWS for giving her a new life. PAWS is forever thankful for loving people like Marie, who find places in their homes and their hearts for these animals. Roo has finally come home.
