Johnny Wade, now named Jack, was a stray rescued by PAWS. He was quickly adopted into a family with other cats.... "Jack is adjusting so well, I just cannot believe it. He talked, talked, talked, in the beginning but while he is a chatterbox he has lessened that a bit. (Rachel probably told him to put a sock in it) He and Rachel are great playmates, and he is learning some important social skills, such as-- it is not polite to attack while she is sleeping... The next morning, he decided quite firmly it was time to explore. He zoomed down the stairs much to Rachel and Jenny's dismay and ran up to Rachel to say HI, HOW ARE YOU??!!! He learned that perhaps it was best not to actually run at them to introduce himself. The hisses and meows have not been bad at all, and even last Thursday I was shocked at how well things were going. He tentatively got up on the bed the second night, and now when I wake up I have between one and three cats on the bed. Jenny, who is painfully shy, is curious about this strange critter and has gone from not being able to stand him to feeling he isn't too bad, but a little bit of a pest. Jack is at that young stage where he swipes his paw under the door or in the door jamb and he and Jenny have gone a few rounds with that game. She truly does not play, but would show up whenever Rachel hissed or meowed in the begining to come (unnecessarily) to Rachel's aid...I definitely rank second to Rachel. I know he will fill out as cats do in their second year, but right now I feel I have a cross between a lion and a poodle. ... I just love him (as do those who have met him) and think he is a wonderful addition!
