PROTECTION OF ANIMALS IN WAKEFIELD SOCIETY, Inc. (PAWS) is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization, founded in Wakefield in 1982 by Esther Nowell. We serve many communities north of Boston. Our mission is to promote and protect the rights and well-being of all  domestic animals and wildlife, and foster greater understanding of animal welfare and animal rights through education.

ShelterCare Insurance Helps you, your pets and PAWS, too

You  can alleviate financial stress associated with your pet's unexpected medical bills (these things do happen) and help our rescue all at the same time simply by clicking the ShelterCare banner below.  Here's how it works:

ShelterCare Insurance Programs cover you when your pet needs essential veterinary care for an illness or injury.  Every time a completed application for a Sheltercare program is generated through our website, we will automatically receive a $25 donation towards our animal care expenses.  This donation is of no cost to you and provides us with necessary funds.  Provide, prepare and protect your family member and ours as well.
