PROTECTION OF ANIMALS IN WAKEFIELD SOCIETY (PAWS)
PAWS (Protection of Animals in Wakefield Society) is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization, founded in Wakefield in 1982 by Esther Nowell. We serve many communities north of Boston. Our mission is to promote and protect the rights and well-being of all domestic animals and wildlife, and foster greater understanding of animal welfare and animal rights through education.
We are always looking for new volunteers to help us maintain, improve and expand all the programs we have for the animals, as well as for the pet owners in our communities. For more information about our current needs and to download an application, click here.

World Spay Day Events
Come visit us during our adoption hours at PetSmart Danvers and VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital in February for information about low-cost spay/neuter opportunities. Subaru/Share the Love Event Update and Video
Thanks to Subaru of Wakefield (our hosts), VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital, Dr. Pelletier, Dr. Wrubel, Santa Claus and all of our volunteers and community participants for making this year's event a success.
Not only did we have a great time, but we raised over $1000 to help our homeless pets AND we found new homes for 26 of the 33 pets looking for a home for the holidays!

ShelterCare Insurance Helps you, your pets and PAWS, too
You can alleviate financial stress associated with your pet's unexpected medical bills (these things do happen) and help our rescue all at the same time simply by clicking the ShelterCare banner below. Here's how it works:
ShelterCare Insurance Programs cover you when your pet needs essential veterinary care for an illness or injury. Every time a completed application for a Sheltercare program is generated through our website, we will automatically receive a $25 donation towards our animal care expenses. SAY IT ALL WITH THIS ANIMAL FRIENDLY LICENSE PLATE
Show your community you care about pets with the Massachusetts "I'm Animal Friendly" license plate by the Massachusetts Animal Coalition . The cost is $40, $28 of which will be used to help fund the statewide spay/neuter program, the remaining $12 is a one-time cost for the manufacturer of this very attractive license plate.
Initial Registration Fee:$50
Special Plate Fee:$40
Renewal Fee: $90 every 2 years

The more plates sold, the more we have the ability to help our animal friends. Afterall, friends don't let friends litter.
